WHAT IS THE PROBLEM YOU ARE TRYING TO SOLVE?
- Children entering Kindergarten and not knowing ABC'S or how to count to 10
WHO IS YOUR KEY AUDIENCE ?
- Children ages 5 and six years old. but the program targets younger so they are prepared to enter kindergarten on the first day.
WHAT IS THE ENTRY POINT TO REACHING THE AUDIENCE ?
- One would have to reach their parents as children can not make their own decisions legally, they can not drive. Plus, parents pay for daycare.
WHAT STEPS ARE NEEDED TO REACH CHANGE ?
- Send out flyers to parents who have children of daycare age
- set up tours of the daycare
- have future parents/ children come tour the school when the students are learning their ABC'S and counting that way they can see how great the program is,
- have parents sign up children
- set up the new children with a plan of study to set goals to reach before they hit kindergarten.
MEASURABLE EFFECT OF THE WORK?
- Track their process by documenting who is reaching their individual goals
- For enrollment, tract tours to how many parents actually sign up.
WHAT ARE THE WIDER BENEFITS?
- Children are better prepared for kindergarten, can move onto advanced skills quicker
- Children are also socially advanced and go to kindergarten ready to make friends.
WHAT IS THE LONG TERM CHANGE YOU SEE AS YOUR GOAL?
- Children will enter kindergarten more prepared
- eventually, the goals of ABC'S AND counting to ten can change to bigger goals as more of a population ends up in daycare before kindergarten. With less children starting school out in Kindergarten, there will be less stress on parents and children at this step in the game and that is the point of this goal.

Theory of Change is about linking the small steps (tracking tours) to mission (prepare young people for kindergarten) to significant social change (equal opportunity for students entering K).
