Who is Brittany and why PASA?

WE HAD BRITTANY PRESENT ON PASA : this week! I am super excited to write about her experience in youth development and how she brought it to us. I LOVE how she brought different models to us to help the class understand PASA with different learning styles. She had herself, a powerpoint and an informational packet. I believe this was great thinking as we all learn in different manners and I am sure this is how she thinks about her youth as well. That's another important thing about Brittany's presentation, she refers to the children in the afterschool program as "my kids" which is really important when building a community.

Obviously, I do not have 20+ children ranging from ages 1-3 year olds BUT i care for them from the hours of 7am to 6pm every day monday though friday and I plan their days outside of those hours so, yes I refer to them as my kids as I care for their futures and I hope they are bright so I understand where brittany is coming from.

CONNECT TO THE COURSE: I really liked how Brittany focused on diversity because that has been a main focus for us this semester in Nonprofit. Diversity is an important aspect to consider when talking about nonprofits as this is a population many nonprofits usually focus on. Diversity is important for all to consider as you never know who is looking at your program weather it is to give a donation, to be on the board or to attend!
